Unhappy A type vs. B type GA16DE engines...

Seems like most of you in North America have the type A ga16 engine whilst us in other parts of the world have the type B. Now I'm not expert at any of this but the slightly different design may run some of us with the type B into probs.

I plan very shortly on getting an Intake, PlaceRacing and Hotshot lead the way but here is my problem.

I've looked at my engine time and again and I don't think the either of those CAIs can fit my engine.

I have linked a bout 3 diagrams of the different layouts and we can see from the third one (like my car) with the filter removed ...the air inlet seems to be on the top as opposed to the side.

Has anyone ever come across the type B and tried installing an CAI on it???

Desperately need some feedback before I go ahead any buy one of these aftermarket mods.

Thanks!!!

i've worked on a sentra from mexico and it has the downdraft throttle body, no maf meter, and shorter air intake runners, very similar to the honda dx engines, so you might want to try checking those out and just make it face the driver's side.....

yup..seems I need the honda type intake

I know NOTHING about Hondas but it does turn out you can employ the CAI used in HONDA DXs.

Which year or what model is a Honda DX engine found??

My friend has a civic dx with the kind of manifold you're talking about...his engine is the d16y7.
