Cherry Bomb Muffler

Hey guys i have a ?

I went out today to find a muffler for my sentra and i ended up getting a Cherry Bomb because it was cheap and i thought it might sound good.Is their anyone of you all that have a Cherry Bomb replacing your stock muffler and if you do how does it sound?I want something that is kinda loud but also sounds good and i was wondering if this Cherry Bomb would do the trick?I need an answer asap because I am planning to put it on tomorrow..Btw, if it helps any the muffler is about 17 inches long with a 1.75 inch inlet/outlet..Thanks

a cherry bomb is loud and will sound horrible, you can find a muffler anywhere, i heard magnaflow is a good one.

Yup, so your money wasent wasted. Once you get a header your gonna need that cherry bomb.....lol
Magnaflow has the best sounding mufflers for our cars, that are cheap. They even sound good with the stock exhaust.

Yup, cherrybombs = resonators, not muffler (unless you have a mullet and an IROC)

Depending on where you live you might not want a Flowmaster, they rust out faster than Magnaflow, personally I like Magnaflow better, we sell both where I work and the welds and the sound, the overall quality is better on a Magnaflow. Of course you can always go for an N1 Apexi (like me) but they are more $$$ (a LOT more), but the quality is beyond the other two.

i made the mistake of using a cherry bomb as a resonator once. I guess i got a crappy one because it blew out in a month (thrush glasspack).

good, cheap mufflers= magnaflow

Your Cherrybomb blew out?...I've had mine in my exhaist since early September and its perfectly fine....

And, I have a header, 20" Cherrybomb, 2 1/4" piping and a Magnaflow SS, and it sounds GREAT(no buzzing rice sound). The guys at the shop were like "Whoa...I can't belive that sound is coming out of a four banger". The Magnaflow SS mufflers are top notch and made of stainless steel, so they won't rust out after one winter like my friend's mild steel muffler

but your boosted right? so you have alot more air coming out.

Flow master is internally baffled causing backpressure cause loss of HP
Magnaflo is a strait through glass pack and perforated (not louvered) and reduces backpressue greatly.
Any muffler (after market muffler that us) is going to sound like carp on the stock exhaust piping because you are funneling gasses that have been restricted by a pipe no wider than 1.5 in. into a pipe (amplifier if you will) that is about 2 times that size so it will get very loud and very tinny. If you want a good sound, save that cherry bomb! Now go and get a new exhaust with a 2in. Pipe only crush or mandrel doesn’t really matter much. Then use the cherry bomb as a resonator. Then get a magnaflo of the style you like (all essentially the same in function they just look different) and slap the sucker on the end. Now turn on your engine and sit back,,,, enjoy that sound, and the hp!

Just in case you are still thinking of putting the glass pack on your car.....my wife once owned a Baretta and the previous owner had put one on. I could hear her turn the corner and drive up to the house from 2 blocks away. And that was normal driving, opening the throttle up was ridiculous.

Just wait till you get that MagnaFlow for Christmas, and you will be happy. I told you a cherry bomb would make it sound like sh1+, but you wouldn't listen.
