i have a squealing noise coming from my motor...a guy said it sounded like a bearing is bad in my alternater...this only happend after i advanced my timeing...my idle goes to 1600 rpms when i disengage the clutch then back down after like 3 seconds...but im not worried about this...the hissing noise is what im getting tired of. has anyone had a problem like this?
yes i do but i know what that sounds like....this is more like a vaccum leak or something from the left side of the motor..(when you are looking at the windsheild.) plz help. it only started doing it when i advanced my timing.
It could very well be ur timing chain cuz mine is making that noise and I took off the VC and the chain was kinda loose and I figure that is what is making the noise.
thanx man i will totally check out the timing chain.....because when this mechanic did my timing he turned my distributer all the way clockwise and i run 93 octane and there is no detonation...so i figure its ok...but i still dont understand how he says its at 13 degrees and its all the way turned...and i have read on these forums that it needs to be turned 15 degrees....does this sounds like a new timing chain? if so....plz send me info on prices how to links....thanx alot
it may not be this, but mine was doing it from the same side of the engine.... check to see if it has a little water leak, even a TINY little one of the pipes squirting onto hot metal will make a really wierd noise
it actually sounds like a spinning noise...almost like a vaccum leak but i bought all new vaccum hoses and everything so its not a bad hose...i dont want to buy a new alternater for no reason...
