This one is a PITA. I had this code last year, a couple of times.
The first time I got it, we hooked a smoker to the evap system. The little green caped line in the engine bay. The put the car up on a lift to check for leaks in the system. Sure enough there was a leak in on of the lines. HOw it got there,(scratching head, thinking of the night I thaught my car was a 4 wheel drive) well I hit it some how and damaged it.
The second time, was right after I installed some new silicone vacum hoses. Some how some way, I have no idea how, but I hooked up a check valve up backwards. That damn light came back on, I checked the code, and I said to myself OH HELL NO, not again. BUt this time, I knew it had to do with the new lines. So I looked under the hood and at the diagram of the evap system, and founf the error.
So It could only be a few things, a leak, some lines crossed, or one of the sensors has gone bad. You will know if a sensor is bad, when you hook up the smoker to the e vap system, and the smoke does not exit out of the drivers rear of the car.
