hey guys just found this site .......cool site!
1991 sentra 1.6 ok i get code 14 from my ecu.......vss sensor
i have the idle problems when slowing down and a pinging(detonation)
at acelaration under a load..........speedometer doesnt work now for about a mth. i did a search and read alot on this.......does this sound normal
for the vss sensor when its bad?

whatsa pinging (detonation)?
i donno if this is the same problem as mine..but sometimes , most of the time in the morning, if i pull up to the light let say, and i start slowing down..the car starts jerking...and the RPMs drop to like 400 and then back up... sounds like its chocking.

anyone have any ideas on my post from above?
will replaceing the VSS sensor solve my problems?

I dont know about the idle and pinging part, but I do know that your speedo not working would be caused by the VSS. I also know that the VSS signal is used for several other things by the ECU. So perhaps it could cause your other problems. Id say defintiely replace it. If nothing else, at least your speedo will work.

thanks guys im going to replace the vss=(is this a complicated job?) and check the timeing
all this started about a mth ago..when the speedometer quit
working and the idle messed up and then now the pinging
for about a week now the only code in the ecu was the vss sensor
