Well, I just crossed the 100k mile threshold on my B14. I have been having an odd problem with it lately though. When I start it sometimes, the starter does not immediately engage when I turn the key to the start position. Yesterday, I turned it and nothing happened! I then tried again and it started right up. I figure it's a starter solenoid, but do GA16DE's have one or 2 solenoids? I ask this because there are some late model vehicles that have one on the starter and one on the body. Anyone else have this problem before, and if so, what was it?

yeah I did, it was the starter going out eventually leaving me in a parking garage stranded. there is only one solenoid.

Cool.I guess it's off to the junkyard then! Is there a difference between a B14 and a B13 GA starter?

yeah there is and even in b14 starters there is a Federal and CA model.

Hmmm... I guess I'll take my chances at the junkyard. I hate to pay full price for a rebuilt when a used one is only $10. I wonder if I could make the B13 starter fit? I used a B13 radiator and it fit fine even though it wasn't supposed to.

You may want to check your grounds also. I had a problem starting but mine was due to corrosion on the ground wires.

Ever since i got my car, i've had to change my alternator and starter about once a year. I know of a few more people with B14's with the same problem. I hope you find a gem in the junkyard.

ive had my car for about 4 years and just like ^ said, im on my 4th alternator so thats about 1 per year
