Cool Hi, im new and got some Qs

Whats up, ive had my 200sx SE for around 3 years now. Ive been into imports since then but had no cash. I havent worked on cars pretty much at all since my job and school eats up my time. But this summer i want to get the Hotshot headers and Intake aswell as the stromung exhaust. I have the stillen exhaust on my car, but its old and i need to replace it. I havent worked on cars so any details and stuff would be great. Did any of you have trouble installing any of this stuff. I love my car and i plan on doing all the work myself so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

Headers would be a little harder to install than an intake. But they are both easy. Also depends on what type intake your getting, cold air or short ram. Because the 200sx's need to be cut were the stock air box(in back of drivers side fog lights, or air vent) for the cold air intakes to get cold air. Short ram intakes are very easy, any beginner can do that, just remeber when your disconnecting the MAF sensor, don't start car with it unpluged(this will turn on the engine light) and thats more trouble to turn off. For the headers its fairly easy, you just have to get the stupid bolts off with penetrating oil, those should be very hard to loosen because of rust or corrosion. You could also have a friend lift the headers from under the car while you install new bolts into engine. I have a question for you, why are you replacing your exhaust???

Exhaust

if your mainly working on the exhaust, go ahead and buy some0 headers from www.ptuning.com they have the Hot Shot brand for your car. It comes with the headers and the down pipe for about $400 shipped. You can also look for the whole kit(not from hot shot). Then you will have everything but headers (tip, mid, and rear piping). But then you'll be a little broke. Email the dealers on what ever you get, so you can get some CARB info to see if its legal in your state. You might be able to find just the mid pipe on ebay, i seen one on there before. but may not be legal??

this may be off topic... but anyone else have a 98 200sx (excluding CA models)? Hehe, anyone put a header (sorry if I sound rude, but it's a header for our engine... not headers) on, with straight pipe back to a muffler? That crap is loud!!! I had to run around like that for a week before I got my resonator and catalytic converter. It's amazing what those 2 pieces can do... hehe. My fricken header took forever to put in, from 1pm until midnight (if not later). I figured out after I installed it, that it was made for a CA ga16de... doh! oh well.
ok, not that anyone cares, but I like talking about B14's and their engines...
I'm gonna get off now, before I get nagged at
later

i did that too, all header then straight pipe the first time i got my hotshot header, i begged, searched high and low for a good cat and resonator. hence a "test pipe" cat and a cherry bomb glasspack.
