Oil pan installation 1.6

Guys. I pulled the pan because of the leak. What gasket RTV did you use and did you use threadlock on the bolts? Also, should I I don't want the RTV to seperate inside and get sucked up into the motor. Maybe I will look in the manual, but it may not say.

:sighs: ultra grey rtv is used from the factory (B14). I wouldn't reccomend using threadlocker on the bolts. If you use rtv then as you put the pan bolts in it will get covered in rtv and that will hold it in place very well indeed. The factory manual states to use about a 3.5 mm or so bead around the oil pan sealing surface and be sure to surround the bolt holes on the pan. The rtv will state on the package that it sets up in 1 hour and fully cures in 24 hours. So your safe after an hour. You will find more good information by searching, I know this for a fact...However I did answer your question but maybe next time try to give a quick search, these questions were straight forward and in the search.
