anyone running H/E w/o cats?

my current setup consists of the HS header (and stromung catback) which eliminated both cats; the mechanic that did the header install claimed that the o2 sensors were registering the "correct output" to the ECU and there was no need for an o2 sim (which doesnt exist anyways)
so basically, i have no cat(s) and surprisingly, no CEL, and was wondering if anybody had input about whether or not this would make my 98 GA16DE run in limp mode or do anything else funny?
btw, i did a search, so please, no "GO DO A SEARCH!!!" rants...

I currently have pacesetter headers and pacesetter cat-back exhaust, so no cats. I haven't noticed any probs other than it won't pass emissions tests. But I'm in a county that only requires a visual inspection so I'm ok.

^mitch im sorry to here that you have pacesetter exhaust.. haha j/k... heres the thing, running no cats will destroy your second O2 sensor, even after adding a header, and not relocating the O2 sensor, it will get destroy, you will start to throw some codes eventually.. beside we aren't muscle cars, taking out the cats will do ABSOLUTELY nothing for your car except to pollute the air.. do the world a favor, get some cats..

it just happened to work in that case for me (no cats) cuz hotshot eliminated my cat and stromung didnt come w/ one; thats probably why its called a catback, lol
sentra97gxe, i notice in my car that sometimes it runs good but sometimes its just @$$ slow
do you have this case w/ yours?
in either case, i hear ya, psulemon, my car is in the shop as we speak (type) and its being "legalized"
i was just wondering if there was something wrong w/ the setup... thanks for your input

not running a cat isn't going to effect your performance but rather emissions, its called a cat back cuz its from the cat back, not including the cat... but our car is ass slow until you get some good work to it..

i know what a cat back is, bro, no need to clarify that...
what im asking is whether the lack of cat is liable to affect performance... in a word, you say no; thanks for your input
