jdm ga16/tranny is in!

Got it in last night... worked all weekend but it feels nice now. Still needs some fine tuning but running well. The worst part was f$%@n the intake manifold had to pull it off in two pieces but oh well it's all good now. Exhaust sounds nice too... well off to work gotta make more $$$ for the ride =)
Just thought I'd share.

The new one had a manifold on it already so we tried to use it but didn't realize until after we started switching all the sensors that all the emissions stuff had no where to go. I'd say we wasted about 2-3 hours doing that. But it was my 1st swap so it should go much faster next time.

Do you feel any difference in the acceleration based on the change in gear ratios alone?

I would definitely say it feels a bit stronger and pulls quite easier... I totally notice the slightly different gearing in 1st and 2nd but not up from there.

It's really up to you... I figured my motor/tranny combo had 180k on them already i might as well change them out together. I bought the package from Soshin usa... Carlos hooked me up w/ both from LA to Seattle for $1000 can't complain about that (but I had to pay an extra $55 for a residential drop off). Like I said I notice the gearing in the lower 2 gears but not so much after that I'm still being gentle w/ it though i replaced my clutch as well time for break-in and all that good stuff

nice write up and if you scroll down to the tranny section it shows that the nx tranny is the best.
