Turbo GA16i....fun? Or not fun...

My friend's got a T25 for sale and I was thinking how those are good for 1.6L motors......has anyone tried this on a GA16i? Or any turbo? This could be fun. My dad's made a couple custom manifolds for Toyotas and one Nissan so he knows how to do that.

T25 should be just fine on a 1.6. That's the stock turbo on a CA18DET and my 2.0 SOHC turbo has a T25. If you aren't going to reduce the compression ratio you only need about 5psi so the T25 should serve you well.

Good turbo choice and your dad's a good resource. I say go for it.

find a replacement that can bolt/clamp onto the GA16i TB? I mean intake plumbing replacing the big blue box. I'm assuming your dad does exhaust manis.

yea, the t25 is a good small turbo. Not sure about on a ga16i...but i have it in my 240sx (sr20det) and it spools up nicely. Good luck on the swap. I think you should go for it since your dad can make u a custom manifold plus you have the resources to do it. On stock internals i'd say 4-5 psi would be good.
