I think I may have messed something up. I recently did a tune up on my car and during the process of changing the rotor is where my problem started. My rotor was
VERY difficult to come off. I should have took that as a sign to leave it alone, but being the hard-charger I am I continued. While forcing the rotor off, I heard some clicking (almost like gears) from the distributor. I wrote it off, but when I was done I checked the timing and needless to say it was off. Way off. I made adjustments and was able to get it back to stock 10 BTDC. I previously had it at 15 BTDC, now I notice a slight hesitation in the low RPM ranges. I back-probed the distributor to check the voltages and it checks out.
My question is...How do I start from scratch with the timing on the car, and should I replace the distributor anyway (the replacement rotor when on pretty rough, so I know it's going to be a bitch to get off!)? I've watched the Horsepower TV episodes and seen how they put piston 1 to TDC the insert distributor. Can I do that with my GA16? I know it's alot to swallow, but any help is appreciated.
