car has loads of problems - rattle inside valve cover to horrible gas mileage
well I just picked up this car from a junk yard, got a steal on it for $1000. It's a 94 Sentra LE, runs great except for these problems
the main one that concerns me is the rattle inside the valve cover, from what people on here say it sounds like someone kicking around a coke can.. it happens at any RPM and never goes away. Lots of people recommended that the tensioner should be changed, is that a good idea? any write ups on how to do this online somewhere?
The other problem, my car just randomly stalls - 99% of the time when I'm turning. Very rarely does it stall when coming to a stop or anything. One thing I did notice about this problem, it occurs more when I take a left turn than a right and there is usually a gas smell that comes along with it.. possibly some gas problem? I already changed out the fuel filter.
Another problem is the gas mileage im getting, no lie I'm getting 10 miles per gallon..
any comments or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

for the problem about the stalling .. im guessing power steering pressure switch.
its like a valve.. in my 95 sentra if you pop the hood its located in the upper left corner of the engine bay. Pretty much all it does is..when you steer it increases your RPMs so that the car won't stall. I had the problem before.. the car felt like it was about to die evertime i turned..and especially when i had my A/C on cause A/C pressure switch was also bad. After i replaced those two, i haven't had problems since.
