Throttle Body Q's
ok, i have a 92 sentra xe with the GA16 and auto tranny.
1. is there a difference between the TB on a auto and manual?
2. can the SR20 TB go onto the GA as easy as
this guy makes it seem, minus the whole TPS thing
3. and with the TPS thing, cant you just get the SR20 TB TPS, and wire into the GA16 TPS wires?

For the 2.0l you have to dremel out the plenum a little- put a rag in it before you start dremeling- thatll save you alot of problems.

i cleaned my TB and noticed a world of difference, throttle response and low-end torque was back. i also looked at the TPS wiring, it looked like 3 wires, red white and blue, in that order from top to bottom. can anyone tell me what the wiring on the sr20 TPS is. thanx. and any ideas, comments, suggestions on the TB swap would be much appreciated.

I haven't done the swap but I would try to take the tps off the ga tb and fit it on the SR one... if it fits then I don't think you have to screw around with the wiring. search for a user "johnand" and view his web page he has a picture of the swap done.

My O2 TB is 54 MM and the outside still fits inside the SE-R TB. The SE-R TB I have is 60MM.

There you go, 60mm...
man, it'd be nice to be able to make that work instead of just boring out the stock tb...

If you are going to put on a new throttle body, then you've GOT to dremel out the intake manifold where it meets the throttle body if you want to have ANY noticable gain.
I am very skeptical of any gains from putting the a new throttle body on. The real restriction is at the filter. Additionally, if you increase the SIZE of the throttle body, then the velocity of the air that is coming in will probably be reduced. Again, I am VERY skeptical that such a throttle body is going to make a difference. The Nissan engineers did a very good job when they made the parts for that GA engine and I don't think tinkering with throttle bodies is going to make a noticable difference. It certainly won't be worth the time/money/effort it takes.
