dual tip exhaust question
Since purchasing a Magnaflow dual tip exhaust, I've discovered that dual tips are not ideal for our car's engines. A magnaflow rep told this after I had it on the car. I'm going to be installing an XL powerpack (24" is supposed to be arriving soon) to reduce the noise factor, but am also considering putting a reducer inside both tips to cut the exhaust flow in half (i.e., 2" per tip to 1" per tip). Does anyone have another suggestion? Think this sounds reasonable?
FYI - I've just installed HS headers, hiflow cat, fabricated SS 2" exhaust and will be quickly replacing a vibrant resonator with the Magnaflow powerpack as the car is unbearably loud. The pipe expands to 2.25 at the muffler and then exits through two 2". I won't be doing this reduction until I've seen whether the powerpack reduces the unwanted noise.
PS this is my first post here, although I've been reading a lot. Still, nowhere did I read to avoid a dual tip muffler.
