Thank you for your response... may I ask how you figured this to be? Is it in the "Archives" somewhere, or perhaps you measured it? Or do you have this mod? Not trying to disregard your intelligence, because you are probably correct in your answer! I am just curious to see for myself. Thanks again!

They reason I know this is because I have a 92 2dr and a 94 4dr and the 94 4dr has a stock SE-R catback system on it.

Wonderful! Thanks for the informative and prompt response. Now I just need to install the thing... I'll let you guys know how it all plays out in a couple weeks (can't do it till then). Not looking forward to paying Nissan for the gaskets, but I might as well, as I have some exhaust leaks to fix AND want to do this the proper way.

The only gasket you need is the one at the rear of the cat and you can get it at any auto parts store for less than $3.00. There is no gasket need between the b-pipe and the muffler assembly.

More on gaskets

My Chilton's book is worthless, but something tells me there might be a crush ring gasket inbetween the b-pipe and muffler?

There is a crush ring. I don't remember what it costs, but it's pretty cheap too.

Thumbs up B-pipe install complete!

Well the SE-R b-pipe is on! And I am happy with the results. Install was not very difficult, even for me... the below average (still learning) mechanic. Anyone that has installed their own catback system knows this is a task that could be considered "beginner" scale, with the handy help of some mechanically-inclined friends and the proper tools. BTW, thanks go out to Brad Burdic and Justin McClanahan for their knowledge, helping hands, and lack of criticism on my performance! LOL

With the 1.6 and 2.0-liter pipes side by side you can visually see a difference. Though the same exact shape and length, the 2.0 b-pipe is a bit wider in the crushed bends. It appeared (I didn't get a great look) as if the 2.0 had a little bit bigger/longer resonator. I was able to get a gasket from a B14 that fit the front: where the cat meets the b-pipe... and the rear had a small crush ring already on it. Using those, and some Ultra Copper gasket maker, we rebolted the piping. And wallah!

We let the Ultra Copper settle for about 4 hours, though I'm sure the Phoenix heat helped that process (it was a chilly 97 degrees on Monday... HAHA ). Went ahead and fired it up, hoping the exhaust leaks were fixed, which they were. Drove over 100 miles and the way home and still no leaks.

As for "butt dyno" performance gains, it feels as if the car is more willing to accelerate when I hit the gas pedal... which most likely is true to the greater amount of ehxuast gases escaping. The motor appears to be breathing better both from a start and accelerating in 4th (overdrive ON) going 75mph on the interstate. Keep in mind that this mod was done to an Automatic transmission B13 Sentra. I am not sure what gains could be felt with a 5-speed, but similar if not better are very probable.

Again, I would like to thank Brad Burdic for letting me use his carport for the install, his tools, and his 2-liter of Mt Dew. You can't get through car work w/o it. Also, to Justin McClanahan for swinging by to hang out and lend a hand in the heat. Any questions about this install, or whatnot, post away!

Yeah, I had a good time, I didn't even really help that much, you did most of the work. It's also pretty sad when high 90's feels nice
