I have a 1998 Sentra Gxe and i'm not able to start the car. It sounds like it wants to click over but it just wont go. We tried jumping the car thinking it might be the battery but that did nothing. We are smelling a lot of gas as we are doing this so i'm just wondering if anyone has had this problem or knows what it might be. We're thinking it may be something to do with the fuel filter or line or something. But we are stomped and since it's Sunday the dealership isn't open for us to call and get the car in. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

the gas smell is because you are flooding it.. its probably the started.. search some threads, multiple threads on this... do a tune up, plugs, wires, rotor, cap, fuel filter.. that should help run smoothly

Take out your plugs, clean them, dry them.
Change your oil (its full of gas now).
Do what psulemon said (rotor, wires, etc.)
Then turn the key!
GA16's seem to occaisonally get a weird thing where they just won't start no matter what - there's been other threads on this. Even though there's nothing wrong with it, you have do the sparkplugs/oil change thing to get it going.
Thanks for all your replies. It was the plugs. They had gotten really wet on the bottom from the gas so i went ahead and replaced them. Getting the oil changed tomorrow so hopefully we wont have this problem again. Thanks again to everyone.
