Ok, there has been talk in pervious threads about the transmission ratios in the GA16DE Sentra. I have been told that the Sentra ('91-'99) came with the 3.789 final drive as the NX1600 came with a 4.167 final. I am going to rule out the N13 and N14, because they are from a CA16 and apparently don’t bolt up. I have also discovered the final ratio of 3.895 as a final drive for all Sentras ('91-'94).
I specifically bring up this topic as there was mention that the JDM transmission has a 4.167 final drive. I have written my own speed vs. RPM calculator using excel and have a nice chart to compare the differences.
My car, as verified by aftermarket tach and stock speedo has the 4.167 final ratio. This site (*Site 1) lists the B13 Sentra as having the 3.895 and the NX1600 as 4.167. The FSM for the '96 Sentra lists the final as 3.789. The site (*Site 2) for the Tsuru (Mexican Sentra) lists its final as 4.167. Also, not that this is pertinent, the new Sentra with the QG18 lists theirs as 4.167 also. I will post a graph with some numerical results in a bit. I hope this doesn’t stir much confusion; I just want to see if we can clear things up.
All of these final ratios got to the gear set of (1-5 in order):
3.333
1.955
1.286
0.926
0.733
Final Drive list:
4.167 - Tsuru (Site 2), My '94 E (from what i can tell), NX1600 (by Site 1)
3.895 - B13 (by Site 1)
3.789 - '96 Sentra (Factory Service Manual)
