Question Sentra GTS clutch, acceleration, power steering problems

hi! i'm marco from manila, philippines. i just bought a 1998 nissan sentra GTS, and i'm hoping to get any help for my problems with this car, which are as follows:

1. clutch pedal needs extra effort; doesn't have nice freeplay.
2. delayed acceleration (from 0 Kph) and has dragging effect.
3. steering wheel (or system) is noisy when turned to left or right.

it has a GA16DE engine/B14 chassis, had gone spark plug, oil, filter (oil and fuel) change and timing adjustment already, but its still yet to be fixed. any help? thanks!

spray some wd-40 on the cable of the clutch may loosen it up some and have it adjusted cable clutches have to be adjusted every now and then we dont have the luxury of a hydrolic one

hi nuskool!

thanks for the advice. btw, i found out that the clutch cable is worn already, so replacing it with a genuine one fixed that problem.

Have you checked your fluids? May be a no brainer, but some people forget... Also, is the car a 5spd or auto tranny?

Dude he said he replaced the clutch cable... its a manual.

I think for the rest of your problems you might need an alignment.

hello dudes!

thanks for your advices. yeah, its a 5-speed M/T. as i've said, i got a new clutch cable and it fixed the freeplay problem. by advancing the timing also improved the acceleration, though i still have the steering woe, esp during turning at low speeds. i checked the power steering fluid, and its in normal level. what must be wrong with my steering system? thanks in advance!

i don't know what noisy means but get that alignment done and give more details on what kind of noise it is and where it sounds like its coming from.

hello james!

it sounds like a bearing gradually crushed, and its vibration is felt through the steering wheel. some mechanic told me i need to replace my power steering hose, but that would cost me too much. do you have any idea what/how to tweak this thing? thanks!

OT: read your PM. thanks for your recommendation.

both the power steering hose and the bearing should be relatively easy to change. the bearing being the reason you hear the noises.

sorry, I was still in morning mode... If it reverses the events at all, I say I feel really stupid right now.
