blown motor....new motor has problems

my 1.6 over heated on the freeway...when i pulled over it was all done. the engine was cracked on the pully side. that motor died on me.....big deal i have 3 ga16 motors. i got it towed home and swapped the other motor into my car(in the back yard in the sand....while it was raining in cali.)

the motor fired after about 3trys....after a vacume line and connector which i missed were hooked up...the car ran smooth. due to the fact that the spark plugs and everytingelse with that motor was sitting for about2 1/2 years.
but! after a few minute of running it....the car started to over heat again?

why is ti over heating....i added oil and coolant to the top. could it be my header core. i was thinking its not circulating the water? n e idea woudl help..i only have tomorrow to fix the restof the problem then i have to return to work...

btw that was a easy conversion. auto ga into 5spd ga. very few things had to be changed...let alone the motor is easy to pull and put back in

Does the rad fan come on when it starts to overheat....if it does and it's still overheating.....I'd be looking for a new rad.....it's the only thing that's common to both the blown eng and the new one! good luck!

i think i got the problem....the rad fans come on for a few seconds but go right off...its the temp sensors. they are in two different locations. on the sblown 5spd motor. it was on the intake manifold(in the coolant run) and on the auto motor(new one) its on the the back of the thermostat housin. i swapped the manifold about 10mins ago and i hope thats the problem. i was working in the front yard @ ngiht in some cold ass weather. i need some snow boots.

ttyl
ill post the answer to this problem. even if the answer is GET AN SR@)DET
