Trying to search for something using these words is impossible... If it has already been discussed, then lead me to the thread...
Anyway, my engine bay just recently caught fire... The area is right under my intake. I tried to patch it up and now the engine will turn over, but it won't start. Any suggestions on what I should check? I seriously need help with this!!! Keep in mind that most of that area was affected...

Did the intake bellows between the MAF and TB get damaged in the fire? If so it could be leaning it out so much that it won't start.
But as sno implied it could be a million things.

Yes, yes they did... I'll try replacing that and we'll see

Alright... I'm basically running through all of my vacuum hoses that could have been affected... Thing is, I found a massively damaged hose that looked like it was coming off the TB. It isn't connected to anything and all I really need is a description of where it could be attached to or where they all connect...

theres a vaccum line and 2 coolant lines coming from the tb. there are also vaccum lines going from your egr to what looks like a main vaccum thingy right under your tb
well, too dark out to check it now... I'll keep ya posted tomorrow.

Originally posted by sno the area he's describing is where the fuel filter is....
it was actually closer to the engine, probably around the transmission. I don't think the fuel filter or any of those lines were affected...

could anyone post a pic of their engine bay, maybe a close-up of the tb were the intake goes in?
There looks to be a small vacuum hose right underneath the intake hooking into the tb. I really need a visual to know exactly where the vacuum hose hooks up to. I seriously need my car fixed by this afternoon...

The hose immediately underneath the throttle body goes to this solenoid valve. So follow the hose that appears from the left of the pic which is from the TB(the one with the white numbers on it).
I am just not seeing this... do you have a GA16DE?
