Blow Off Valves without turbo??

Just to start all i wanna say is that i like the sound that blow off valves make. I do not have money to buy the turbo but i still would like to have that sound.. not to imitate turbo.. just the sound ( something different for a change). Now, my question is, is it possible to install blow off valves on an engine that doesn't have turbo??

1. You don't need it...

2. Search... there have been posts on blow-off valve simulators before... unfortunately, they aren't very good for your car.

isn't the BOV sound from the compressor spinning? How the hell is that sound simulated?

after a quick search of the threads. . . found this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2418996334

That's recockulous. That thing just puts more back pressure on the exhaust, causing a loss of power. If one was to engineer a simulator like that, I'd say it should be an electric sound like your card horn, thats electronically controlled by the clutch and distributor signal. the sound would blow when you shift, and it would be louder at higher RPMs. But a whislte in your exhaust? Whatever, if it sounds cool, then go for it. But that's just my opinion, so to answer your question, yes there is a BOV sound simulator out there, and for only $25.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....tha ts the gayest shit ever...ROFLMAO

anyway, when you have a turbo and you shift, you let off the throttle. that closes your throttle plate. but no one tells your stupid turbo that its closed, he he, so it keeps spinning and building pressure. but wait, the pressure cant go anywhere cause the plate is closed. thats where your bov comes in, it allows an escape for the pressure and as an additive, it makes the sound we all love.....PSSHHHHHHHHHH

i want a turbo so damn bad

I hate to burst your bubble, but most Nissan turbo setups that are any good don;t have venting BOV that pop and whistle any ways... MAF'd cars need recuirculating type valves... and faking it would certainly put you in some rice award category...

It's sad that people do that with turboed MAF cars. They'll vent their blowoff to atmosphere for the sound despite that it makes their car run rich. Or they'll spend money on buying a blow-off valve that'll make more noise when recirculating, than say, a cheaper one that works just as well.

They don't care much about the idle and street drivability either....
