there is some kind of liquid you can put on it. im not sure exactly what it is but its red. it was on my friend's battery when he bought a new f150 and ive seen it on a few other cars. maybe someone on here knows what it is.

it helps corrosion too. another thing you might try is changing your cable terminals.

I had that on my XE before I put some cheap $10 gold plated terminals on the battery. Permatex makes a battery terminal spray and it helps somewhat but it makes a mess if you ask me. I have 2 cans of it in my garage that I never use. I'd used a termninal bursh to clean up the battery posts. Then cut the loop off of your OEM positive terminal and use the bolt hole to connect it to a new gold terminal, like these ones:

You could do the same with your ground since these come as a pair. I never used my negative terminal one though.

if i were you i would use oil or some other oil based product. it will reduce or even stop the corrosion. i replaced my battery 2 1/2 yrs ago and i have no corrosion on my terminals what so ever

guys i like to keep my terminal oiless and greaseless, i think if i remember right , your problem might be caused by the fumes coming out of your battery or some kind of loose connection . are you adding water to your battery often or is it a maintenance free battery?
in case it's not a maintenance free , you might have a device sucking in some power from the battery
i would suggest consulting a battery specialist and do a test on your electrical ( amperage might be wrong for your use)

baking soda and water will do it too, and try to put the ring pads under the terminals and spray some of that red stuff on top, then wipe excess.

any carbonated soda will take the corosion off but to keep it clean and not to have a sticky mess just use club soda or seltzer water they dont have ne shugar in them to make ur battery all sticky and u can just lube up the terminal with any kind of greese even vasaline will work if u don't have ne thing laying around
