Weird rattle.

I've been having a rattle around the motor lately. I can really hear it when I turn on the air conditioner, but that doesn't seem to be the problem, it just idles the car at the perfect RPMs to hear it the best, I can have someone sit in the car and push the gas to get it to the slightly higher RPMs and it still does it with the AC off. The rattle, though, seems to be coming from under the intake manifold or just in front of it. I can't tell exactly what it is, because I can't exactly stick my head down there or put my hand down there without burning myself. It's on the far drivers side, right about where the injector is for the last piston. Maybe an injector? How would I find out? The rattle doesn't really seem to get faster with higher RPMs at all, just louder. I'm lost... any ideas?

Buzzing?

Well, it's kind of half-way between a buzzing and a rattling. I don't know exactly what to call it. It is very weird.

Checked that.

I check all the heat shields. They are in pretty good shape and don't rattle while the engine is idling and when it's revved. It's coming from further up. I just can't quite find exactly where it's coming from.

is it like a rattling-chugging noise? is it coming from around the timing chain area on the left side (facing the car)?

i dont think its your injectors.. do you have a strut tower bar or anything cuz i know mine hits this stupid plastic peace on my intake manifold but i have the cali version 98 model.. just to see if anything popped loose and is hitting your fire wall and.. another thing.. check your egr tube to make sure the clamps are loose...
