Im not sure I understand, is you car temp getting too hot?
If not I personally wouldnt mess with it other then getting the ECU done by JWT but Im not sure how that would affect your intake sensor.

I would think that making the engine 'think' its getting cold air, would damage it after a while. Those temp sensors are there for a reason

Some people will relocate the MAF sensor where the air is cooler. I've heard a lot of people say it works but i dont see how...if the computer thinks the air is cooler, thus denser, it will up the fuel and cause you to run rich. I dont buy it at all.

i believe the intake temp sensor only functions at startup anyways. it's for emissions.

i wish it was possible to strip the engine of all that emissions bullshit on there, i mean im sure it is, because that stuff has to be hindering performance

If your asking about the intake sensor mod from ebay quit wondering right now, its a bunch of BS. The guy was selling a resistor for like $20 that went inline to your air temp sensor in the air intake. This would make the car think it had cooler air which would make it add more fuel. Sounds good to people who don't understand how balanced an engines sensory systems are. More fuel sounds better but actually makes you run rich which wastes gas and will eventually roast the O2 sensors in your exhaust. Just another idea preying upon people looking for that ultimate cheap mod.

sfhellwig thats campletly true... this mod will reduce power on a normal engine but if you need to run a litle bit more rich ( raised CR ) then it's a cheap mod to do it. But it will limit your sensor range and that means that the engine will run lean on not start on cold winter days.
