Question turbo ?'

i was wonering, if you have a turbo setup and it takes a long time to spool up. Would putting in a pipe with just the intake itself connected to the tbe of any help while you are wating for the turbo to spool up?? i mean like have a normal turbo setup and then have another setup up that connects to the turbo setup up right before the turbo setup connects to the TB. sorry if i confused you guys i can't really think of another way to phrase it...I'm a F.O.B.

Could you rephrase the question or edit your post to make it more concise? The only ways to reduce lag that I am aware of are as follows:reduce exhaust backpressure so the turbo is free to expel exhaust gases quicker, use a ball bearing turbo which naturally spools quicker due to reduced internal friction, or reduce the amount of tubing between the turbo outlet and throttle body so that the turbo does not need to presurize all that extra air. If all that is correct then make sure you are using the correct turbo for your application.Sport Compact Car magazine had a excellent article that showed the equations for turbo selection last month;it may be on their website so you may want to look there too.

haha... i actually get what you're trying to say... you want to bypass the turbo so the intake air will come in faster than if it had to go through the turbo while it is still spooling, right? That way you'd have two intake assemblies stuck to your TB?

I don't think it's feasible... it would make the airflow from the turbo go around your TB and out your extra intake... at best, it would cause undue turbulence in the airstream before the TB, negating the effect of that high-pressure wave coming from the turbo...

otherwise, high'mile is pretty much right... but another way you can get around it is by using a smaller turbo (super short spool) or by supercharging (no spool)... which no one i know of has done to the Sentra, as of yet...
