nope, your car will not be able to recognize the new injectors, the air fuel ratio needs to be adjusted for the MAF but you can keep your stock ECU if you can get someone to tune an Apexi S-AFC for you(piggy back computer)

Will this solution work as well as the JWT ECU. Or would it be better to find another same model ECU and send it to JWT to have programmed? And would the cost difference be great?
I know the APEXI unit goes for around 300 bucks and I'm not sure how easy that is to tune.

Post JWT

JWT is THE BEST solution for running your turbo car. RIsing rate FPR's and other devices work, but not as consistantly and reliably as the JWT ecu.

exactly, you could get someone to tune an AFC and work just as well but that takes lots of trial and error on the dyno which is costly. Either that or pack up your ECU, ship it to JWT and in a month or so get a whole turbo program by simply "plug and play", much easier IMO

Slightly off subject, but say you get it reprogrammed for a turbo setup only, then you go grab JWT's cams later on. Do you have to have it reprogramed to recognize the new cam profile? I'd hate to decommission my car for a month every time I add something that requires ECU tuning.

little debate is going on in a couple threads from the past, There is a possibility that ECU tuning for the cams is not required and that it wont pose to much of a problem if none at all. Although it has yet to even be tried without the tuning, we will have to wait and see.

yes, u would have to get it reprogrammed for your cams later on, which sucks, but its the ony way to run the cams after adding the turbo

As Blu200sx stated..this remains to be seen. We don't think there will be any problems running the cams without reprogramming the ecu, but reprgramming will maximize the gains, We will know exactly the difference in about a week...

stay tuned

Is this plausible?

All cars are different, so a reprogrammed jwt edu will never be as good as if jwt dynoed and reprogrammed your car specifically. Since we can't all go to Cali, could you get the reprogrammed ecu then use a piggy back like the S-AFC and fine tune the reprogrammed ecu with the S-AFC on a local dyno.

Post Well

JWT rarely tunes specific cars on the dyno. They have the knowledge of all things Nissan to be able to tune for maximum performance based on your mods. alone. The S-Afc will give you marginal gains if any on top of what the JWT ecu already does. Again it could gain you some HP but you;d spend some serious loot on dyno time to find those exra ponies.

SInce Nissan's are MAF based cars JWT's ecu is a no brainer. EVeryone always says how good it is because it is the be all end all in terms of engine management for Nissan's ( aside from a properly tuned stand alone).

Waiting for parts. Got the welding done and the ECU went to JWT today. So little progress here and there, but parts are holding me up.
