Like it says. what did you think of it. and for those who are using it how many are using it on an automatic tranny. I can only imagine putting down double the horses that the stock engine makes. i am planning on getting this kit because its the only one i have seen and it seems like a pretty good deal. I want to have around 170 whp for daily driving and turn up the boost for track use and make over 200whp.
so those of you using it what boost level can you safely run the turbo at. i will be getting a boost contoller of course but i want to run the stock 7psi for daily driving and around 13-14psi for track use. They said the turbo is rated for 280hp so i dont think it should be a problem. I just want to know who is using it and how they like it. it looks like a good kit and so far its the only one i have found.
oh and for the ecu. do you have to pay to have the ecu reprogrammed or is that also with the kit.
thanks for any reply

hey i have the same car but also no turbo. Saw the same kit and am also considering it. the ecu YOU need to get reprogrammed at Jim Wolf Technology. they have a web site i think its WWW.JIMWOLFTECHNOLOGY.COM not sure search it, but it does cost some amount of cash. if you do get it let me know how great it works.

i ran, and now my brother runs their "stage 1" reprogrammed ECU on a b14 with a custom turbo kit. it works great! also, IMO i think the hotshot kit is worth the $, especially with that group buy thats going on.
i am in the process of putting a turbo on my car... the only thing that i heard from i think nissan performance mag, is that you need to upgrade your ecu, perferably by jwt and if you have a MAF, it would be smart to upgrade that to a 3" diameter to allow better flow...and javierb14, what did you add when you put on your custom turbo
yeah im glad to see that they are starting to make more performance parts for the ga16. i think it is a very potent little engine. with good reliability. i beat and beat on mine and it still runs great. because of the variable intake timing it makes for very good power potential with a turbo. and since im not looking for a great overload of power i think turboing it will be perfect. right now the car is very slow some of the reason being its an auto. but after turboing it, it should make some good power and especially turning the boost up a bit and put around 200whp down should make for some good times being that the car is so light. should make for some good times and show up some turboed hondas just like the car n/a shows up your basic hondas. but im just tired of anything other than that kicking my butt so i think it would be a good improvement. cant complain about over double the whp that it puts down stock and with the boost turned up it should be pretty fun. but it is definetly a strong engine and i think parts for it will only increase. but i was glad to go on hotshot and see that turbo kit. put a smile on my face to know that they are finally making stuff for it. just had to say that

If you buy the Turbo kit from Hot shots the ECU is reprogrammed for free, you just have to supply your own ECU which means your gonna be out of a car for a little while, but if your putting in a turbo that will take a little while so it should even out in the end The problem is if you buy thru the group buy your gonna have to pay for the turbo kit and the reprogramming ISNT covered in that... so you'ld have to buy it, costs 600 dubloons which you can only find if you beat up some pirates... hope that helps!
Well you could just get an ecu from a same year 1.6 powered nissan at a junkyard and send it in so you can still have your car. A turbo kit can be installed in about a half day or full day depending on skill. asuming that it runs right after the install. i understand that at first startup and drive it will run a little rough and from what ive heard pretty rich, until the computer has time to set itself to run with the turbo and bigger injectors but from what ive heard it doesnt take that long for it to get in a fixed setting. so thats what i would do is just buy a used ecu from offline or from a junkyard for the same year car and engine and send it in so i can have my car. could probably pick one up for like 50 bucks or so.

HS manifold is around $600 on it;s own. The NEWEST option is using the PROTECH manifold designed for the QG18 as the GA and QG have the same exhaust port and stud spacing. The PROTECH option will leave you making EVERYTHING else from scratch though.
As for the AFC, spend your $$$ on the JWT ecu and some 370 CC's

you;ll also have bigger headaches... if you want bigger injectors just tell JWT when they program the ecu... but not sure why you would want bigger injectors..the 370s are more than ample for the GA turbo
