timming

ok i did my timming, but the best power came from when i adj it all the way up it didnt knock or anything but it idled weird will this hurt anything. i have a 98 1.6 and have been running 93 octane gas for about 4 years

What do you mean all the way up, you didn't measure it? That's not a good idea, you'll start losing power past a certain point, not to mention the possibility of damaging your engine.

i had a timming light, it ran great with the timming all the way up but i did turn it back to 15* just in case it would mess something up

All the way up where though? I've had mine at 18* for about 4 years with no problems, but I think anything past that you're going to start losing power again, and maybe detonating under heavy load.

i turned the the dist. all the way till it didnt turn and it ran great but the idle was jumping from 1000rpm to 500rpm i want up hills and on the interstate to see if it would knock but it didnt
