250,000 and still halls a@%! but is burning oil

I hit 250 K about a week ago, and she still flies, with 35 mpg.
Slows a little with the A/C on but still keeps going.

BUT, have a problem. Prior to changing timing components a month ago chain, gears, and oil pump, she never used any oil. When I would change the oil it never leaked or burned a drop. Now I am using a quart every 100 miles.
I have heard that the valve advance VVT?? or somthing like that solenoid could be causing the oil to pass the intake valves??
I have Checked: PCV, Air cleaner,Plugs,leaks,radiator,exaust pipe, All are ok no problems.
Can this solenoid be tested??

if it only started happening after u replaced everything, then take it apart and put it back together. but make u double check all the seals, torque specs,etc..........

cant really help on the problem but for a temporary fix, use a higher viscosity, thats what i did on my 95 G20 when it was burning oil.
