Yeah ZEXEl is right about all thoughs performance parts giving more horse power for the same price as the ECU. GOOD POINT.

I decided to just buy a used GA16 ECU. That way i will save 500 to 600 dollars towards payment on my Sentra. When thats paid off I plan to buy a 240 and drop an SR20T in it. I would rather spend money on that car and engine like I stated earlier then on the GA16.

wes - You're very right. In most cases, if I break something on my car that can easily be fixed with an aftermarket piece, usually that is what I do. But in his case, yes it is "broken", but if he intends to put money into an entirely different car, with much more potential...lets be realistic here...I would much rather do that. I know a kid that bought an '89 240 Coupe, runs fine, for $500. Hell, if I would've ran across that, I definately would've bought it! My point is, since he is not planning on doing anything else with his Sentra, I would definately put my money towards another car with plans already ahead.

Monty - Good luck with your 240 man. I'm sure it'll look good and be quick. I don't know if you search any 240 forums, but a very good one is Zilvia.net. I almost bought a '96 SE w/ 38k on it. It was a friend of my parents, so I researched up and down my ass to look for things to check, double-check, and make sure it was running fine. Turns out insurance was too high for a 16 yr. old and it fell through. But I've definately learned the Zilvia.net is one of the best forums to check out for 240's. Good luck again.

If you still want a se-r ecu, you should check the classified forum or ebay. Someone is always parting out a b13 se-r. I bought my ecu and bracket from the classified forums about a month ago for a $100.

I will check the forum and try to find a ECU for a good price.

I have a question, but I think I know the answer.

Can I buy a '92 GA16 ECU and put it in my '94? I doubt this, but was wondering, so hopefully there will be a SE-R ECU for a good price. I would still like to send the SE-R ECU to JWT to get it reprogrammed if I can find one for $100. Stilll would rather get the GA16 ECU though.

Thanks

I ended up purchasing a used ECU for only $165 and an auto import yard and saved 435 dollars instead of buying a brand new ECU. So, the money I saved will go towards my furure 240SX.

I got my SR ECU for 30.00. A long time ago I bought the JWT ECU from a list member for 300.00. it was programed for my 1992 1.6. I have an automatic. The thing ran the motor no problem, but the torque converter switches did not run because the ECU was for a manual. The ECU ran the motor very smoothly, I never had the motor run this way. Its amazing. He retunes the air/fuel maps and at idle, it is very smooth. midrange power from 3000 to 5000 is incredible. Lots of pull until the camshafts run out. bottom end wasn't much more, but the takeoff improved. Go to a junkyard and find a ECU for your year of car. Tell JWT to program the ECU for your 1994 sentra 1.6. Tell them all the mods you have and what you plan for in future, they can tell you what to do. They told me 100.00 to transfer the program to an automatic SR20 ECU from the ECU I had.
Good luck.
