went to meineke today and they have a used greddy muffler with 4 inch tip and they'd put do the whole thing for $80 installed...then there's a cherry bomb turbo muffler with tip and labor would be like $130...any ideas on which might be better pricewise and quality? thanks!

NO..

No bigger than 2".. you will loose low end torque.. get 2".. and a preforated core muffler.. get a cherry bomb pre muffler from autozone/pepboys for like 20 bucks... then throw that on right after the cat.. get 2" in and 2" out.. make sure everything is 2"

2" for the actual exhaust right..the tip can be as big as you want right? and also, the glasspack mufflers are the "fart can" type ones that should be avoided at all costs right? thanks

you can put a foldgers can on the end of the pipe, just so long as the actual, exhaust piping, from headers back, maintains the 2" diameter.. the tip is crap.. tip = nothing.. the muffler is what counts..
