Question SR20 tb swap

has anyone swaped an SR20 tb into a GA16?

is it worth it? did you experience any performance gain?

Gives you the general idea.

thanks for te link adam, but rc's tb is 54mm and the sr20's tb is 60mm
should i expect basicaly the same resoults or will it be to much air coming into the engine causing it to lean out?

I would expect about the same results. I knew a guy who had one on his automatic GA and he seemed to like it. There were no adverse affects that I know of and he said it helped the throttle response a bit.

I installed a 1995 SR20 Tb on my automatic. The linkage is not the same so you have to switch it over. This is not easy, but its worth the trouble. It bolts right into place on the 1992 with alluninum plenum. The RC upgrade is not worth the trouble, its not bored enough. Actually the one I have is 63mm inner and the outer bore is 66mm. The coolant hoses line right up, the TPS does not need changed, maybe adjusted. I was never able to spin the tires with the automatic before, but now I can, so you must get an increase in low end torque to some degree. The RC would not show much because the bore is not that greatly improved. Do the swap, but you need a coupling from the SE-R for the intake pipe. I got one from HOTSHOT since i have the cold air already. I think the more air in with the cams and compression of the motor going higher, you may get more results with the TB.

Tuning? Do you mean resetting?

did you have to expand intake manifold with a grinder?

I took the thing off and grinded it out and smoothed it with a drum roll too. i also had to shave off the fitting on the right side it interfered with the throttle plate of the new TB. Extrude hone ported the thing also, I saw no real improvement, maybe 1 hp on a dyno if I ran it. The smooth airflow may hurt the swirl, but the new cams will like it.

i got a 200sx se-r tb from andreas miko but im having trouble with the tps because the se-r's tb has the tps to stiking to the oposite side of the tb and it doest'n fit because of somo vacuum lines on the intake manifold

does anyone knows what should i do?
