Automatic to manual transmission swap update!

Well,

I just started working on the car again, and wanted to post an update. The transmission is finally in the car now! I completelt took the transmission apart. I cleaned both cases, replaced the input shaft seal, striking rod seal, striking rod boot, axle seals, neutral safety switch, and reverse switch. I also painted the case with high temp aluminum paint. Found a few other items that needed to be swapped. If all goes well, I should be done the end of this month early next month. I have updated my website with some more pictures and details, but still am not finished.

Here is a pic of the transmission in:

The drivers side transmission mount and hardware need to be swapped as well as the front and rear engine to transmission gussets.

john, what kind of paint did you use, name brand? I used the wire brush on the drill, but have not polished the case yet, maybe I should paint it also. What did you prep it with first???

Thanks Chris 92 classic

I took the case apart and removed all the internals then stuck the case in the parts washer. I scubbed the hell out of them in the parts washer and rinsed them off with my pressure washer, then blew them dry w/ compressed air. I then taped off the seals and starter and speedo holes and sprayed the case w/ 3 coats of Duplicolor High Temp (500degrees) gray Primer. The coated the case w 5 coats of Duplicolor High Temp (500degrees) Aluminum color paint. Once it dried, I installed the new sensors, new axle seals, and speedo pinion and sealed the case w/ RTV.
