Coolent is looking nasty, how to change/flush

ok, I've been puting this off for way too long, the coolent in the tank is looking nasty and I really need to get on it. I don't really know the first thing about the cooling system but I really want to find out so I can get this done.

I heard that there is a plastic screw at the bottom of the radiator and a plug on the block. I assume that will be the easy part but the main thing is how do I flush it, how do I fill it, and when I fill it, how do I get rid of air bubbles?

can someone describe the process or link me to some instructions.

Ok the easiest way to go about this is to (1) undo the lower radiator hose, to drain all of the coolant out. (2) then with the hose still off, run a hose into the radiator to flush out the coolant. you may need to put your hand or something over the opening where the hose goes on and let the radiator fill up then let it run out, and keep doing so untill th water runs clean. (3) then put the water hose into the lower radiator hose to wash out the block, (4) after that put the rad hose back on the Radiator and fill the radiator with water and start the car with the heat on full, and fill the radiator up as it goes down, (5) once it is full drain the radiator back out by takeing the lower hose offand repeat the steps 2 and 3. then put the lower hose back on and fill the radiator with a 50/50 water coolant mix. To get all the air bubkes out fil the rad start the car with the heat on ( wich fills the heater core) and fill as it gos down once it levels off fill the resevoir

although it sounds simple, its very messy and requires alot of plastic milk cartons and then those air bleeder caps.. good luck finding those..

$45-60 for shop pressure flush

and then add some WetWater
