According to haynes, it's the speedo gear line or some crap. There's no pic and I cannot find it. Can someone post a pic of where it is? (the upper fill PLUG is stripped... there should be a place where the speedo pinion goes into the trans, but I cannot find it..)
THANKS
Jacob

its on top of the transmission very close to the firewall. you can see it from the driver's side. i cant think of how to explain it...but there was a pic of it in my haynes manual so there should be one in yours as well. its a black disk looking thing with a wire for the sensor coming out of it.

im in the same pickle. i just replace my driveside half shaft and now need to replace the transaxle fluid the spilled out.
i saw what u were talkin about katana but it seems like a tight fit. dont see how i can get in there with a bottle of gear oil.
also... how do we know when we have enough in there???
go to auto zone or advacne or somewhere like that...in the fluids section there should be this tube thingy. on top it has threads to screw onto your bottle of fluid. its only like 79 cents or so. or you could attach a long hose to the nipple of the bottle of fluid. my trans. drained completely empty bc of a broken axle seal a couple weeks ago and it took just over 3 quarts. after the 3rd quart stick your finger in there and see how much more u need..or alot of people say just fill it till it overflows. hope this helps
the filler plug is tight but it should have a sort of rubberize threading on it...but it take some power to get it off. once you do you just have to jack the car up to get the fluid in the bottom back of the tranny. then you fill it up till it starts to come out and cap it off.
getting a bottle of gear oil in there isnt that hard....just put a small peice of cloth around the head of the gear oil bottle and put it in at a high tilt, if the cloth is tight then nothings gonna leak out...well not a lot at leist.
the speed-o cable is right under the starter....if you look @ ur throtle body just look down and you will see it.....speed sensor.

forget the filler plug...i have heard everyone that tried it stripped it...im one of them...i sat there holding an air gun to it for like 10 minutes till it did strip it. then i found hey theres an easier way. i just hope my drain plug comes out though...only way my fluid came out was bc of that fucked up seal. grr
I know this is a pretty old posting so i don't know if anybody will answer but anyways...that was a nice pic of the speedometer sensor, I found it but after unscrewing that bolt, I could not seem to pull it out. Anybody did it before? Is the whole unit supposed to pop out because mine just spun a bit left and right but I could not figure out a way to remove it. Thanks.
