Ok, so here's the deal. I've got a 99 that I just replaced the engine with another GA16DE. I haven't set the timing yet, but the car will start just fine. When it heats up to operating temp, the car starts a rough idle and misses until it dies and will not start back up until the engine cools. I checked the codes and have an ignition code and a EVAP purge valve code. Could the timing cause a problem with the EVAP and cut the engine off at higher temps?

Any help would be great! (Also, as you can guess, I am a newb! But, fantastic webside you guys are running, huge help so far. I just couldn't find anything on this specific problem)

Make sure the rad fans come on when it gets hot. My sentra has a habit of burning up fans in the summer. When your fans dont turn on the engine just dies.

The fans come on. Everything seems to work fine (there is some noise from what I think is the exhaust manifold because I used the old gasket) until it heats up to max operating temp, then it starts to stumble and eventually dies. And will not start back up until the engine cools back down.

Coolant temp sensor and test the evap canister to see if its working properly
