If your 91 sentra is the same as my 93, then you probably need to remove the battery and the battery pan first to get at the transmission mount. Then you need to support the transmission from underneath with a jack and a piece of wood to take the weight off the mount. This can be a little tricky since you want to take the weight off the mount, but not stress it in an upward or other direction. Then you should be able to unbolt the old mount. Installing the new mount can be a little tricky because the transmission might not be in the perfect position. You can use a big crowbar to move the transmission around a bit to get it to line up with the bolt hole on the chassis so that you can install the mount.

there are 2 transmission mounts, one under the battery and one under the car on the cross member. if its the one on the cross member, then you have to remove the cross member to replace it, then reinstall. if its the one under the battery, its simple.

As I remember the mount is bolted on the cross member. If you wanna change that mount, you have to take the cross member out first.I would put a jack underneath the transmission also.

Hi,

Anyone know if the cross member must be removed for the standard tranny?

Thanks
