Exclamation SAFC not work on GA16DE????

My friend and I tried to wire up an older knob-style S-AFC on my '95 GA16DE, and after we wired everything up and double-checked the wiring, we started up the car with everything was zero'd out. The car started, and idled around 500 rpms (way lower) and would not rev past 2000 rpms, indicating a MAF problem. We originally set the S-AFC on the Nissan type selection, and then set it for an SR-series (setting 6). We adjusted both negative and positive ratios, and still nothing. We then proceeded through all of the Nissan settings, and no change. Does the S-AFC simply not work with the GA16DE? Can anyone help me here?

I have basically just given up hope on the knob-style S-AFC, and am either going to buy an S-AFC II off a friend when he gets Greddy e-Manage, or one off eBay. I am tired of all these complications; the S-AFC II should work with the GA16DE since numerous people on this forum use it with their turbo cars. Does the S-AFC II specifically have a setting for the GA16DE MAF, or do I need to get a KA24DE or SR20DE MAF?

i tried putting a safc neo on my ca18de a few days ago and it worked "ok" but i could not get my new a/f ratio guage to work so i was not getting anything accomplished. since i could not get any setting to make my car run any better i have sold the neo on ebay.
since then i have checked my fault codes and found 3 sensors gone bad altho it runs the same. i need new wiring harness. i hate rotten wiring.

Sorry to hear about your wiring problems, CA18DE harnesses I am sure are not cheap to come by. I know my wiring harness is good, as well as MAF sensor. I guess the older knob-style S-AFC is just not compatible for the engine itself. Does anyone have an English version of the S-AFC 2 manual, all I can find is the Japanese one, and unfortunately, I do not speak or read that language. Also, for those on this forum who are running the S-AFC 2 on their GA16DE turbo cars, is there specifically an engine selection for the GA16DE? I need to know before I dish out $200+ on something that just won't work.

when i was wiring the neo, i called a friend that has a rx-7 with the safc II and the wiring in my book and his book were the same. i was using the hot wire diagram. he has the flap style maf and we have the hot wire. same wiring setup. you can do a search for the wiring online.
