I just got a set of JWT turbo cams for the GA16 last week, it was the final item for me to buy for my turbo build up. In speaking to them, there are not many cam sets left, and they have no intent to make more (not enough sales volume). The list price was $560, I ordered them from a local shop at a slight discount (about $550 after shipping and tax). So if you want a set of cams, probably now is the time to pull the trigger.
I don't know if they're good 'bang for the buck', but since others have seen 7-8 peak hp increase, and more importantly...40+ hp increase at 7200 rpms or so (with ECU rework and variable intake cam timing altered), I thought I'd give them a shot. I have no factory rev limits to worry about since I have an SDS fuel and ignition control mappable ECU.
Everything else in my buildup I pretty much built from scratch or swapped for labor, so I have a brand new rebuilt engine with turbo/manifold/injectors/intake manifold/intercooler/radiator/headwork/piston coatings/7 qt oil pan/prepped rods and ARP bolts/ and standalone management for under $1400, and that'swith the cams in that price. Sure it's taken me 3+ years to collect everything, but I hope to make 225-250 whp with excellent response, and a broad powerband. I'm looking for more torque down low than stock, and at least 1000+ more useable rpms up top. Right now a stock engine is pretty much only useful from 4500-6000 rpms, I'd like to see 3000-7500, which will help to overcome the stock tranny's gearing deficits.

RE: Regrinding stock cores. Yes, you can do regrinds, but they have to be pretty mild. I had a set of cams ground for Tim Mather's rally GA16 engine years ago, they worked fine. The shims required to get the correct lash were all orderable from the Nissan dealer, so no isues there. It cost me about $250 with shipping to get them ground. We never had any wear issues, and the engine was used for competition and street use for many years. The biggest PITA was the time it took to actually do the shimming.

Reason: added regrind info
