ga16de manual trans to 16e

I have an 87 Pulsar with the baby 16E. I also have a 90 Sentra with a GA16 5 speed. I am rebuilding the GA16 which will probably take me a while (lack of funds). I wanted to know if the 5 speed trans will mount onto the 16E Engine. A bought the Santra for the engine/trans, beacuse I cant stand the 70 hp and automatic trans thats in my car now.

I have put a e16 5-speed on a ga16i, which the ga16i and ga16de has the same block.

So it sounds like this should be fine
Things to check.
do the axles come out in the right place ? mount position ?
Guess you can use the GA axles, that gets the side to side correct.
also measure the distance from axle to the block with a ruler, if its same within half an inch I think it will be ok ( position to hub fore and aft)
on mounts I think you should look and see if the positions are the same and figure out if GA or original mounts should be used.
good luck.

I am pretty sure the E-series and GA-series use different CV axles, half-shafts, and hubs. You would most likely have to swap out to a complete GA-series drivetrain altogether.
