There is a big panel next to the battery on my '93 GA16DE. There is a spot marked fuel pump, but I didn't open it to see if there was a relay or another fuse in there.

Did the car just not start up one day? Or was there a series of events that eventually lead up to it not running?

it just quit running while i was driving it, cost me $75 for towing and a days work trying to troubleshoot and the parts at autozone(plugs, wire, distributor cap, fuel filter, relay) parts guru there dont even know where the darn relay located at, one thing I left to mention is the car sit for maybe a month without running, i had to use it that day cause my truck is in the shop(another problem) it started fine that morning, but on my way to work it just sputter and died....like i said it will crank all day but no start...

That sounds exactly like what happened to my car. It was cranking but not starting, i was getting spark, i changed the fuel pump and filter. I tried everything and finally took it into a shop. They found that the rotor was loose, so i was getting erratic sparking. Take a look through this and see if it helps. http://www.nissanforums.com/ga16de-1...ont-start.html

OK! found that darn puel pump relay switch....its under the dash, driver side...to the left of steering column almost on top that connector where you plug the code reader whenever you have a engine light on (sorry dont know what you call it) it has 4 wires going to it all black with blue, pink, white, and yellow tracers. i was fiddling and i happen to put my hand to it when i turn the ignition on, and i felt the click. changed it anyway...guess what? still the darn car wouldnt start...so I'm back to square one. I'm gonna retrace what i did, check everything again. maybe i missed something...wish me luck....and for those of you who dont know where that darn fuel pump relay switch?...now you know!!!! LOL

if you have spark and have fuel, check the vaccum lines. i did a sr20 swap and had just enough stuff hooked up so i could start it to check that i did the wiring right, or so i thought. i got fuel and spark, but could not figure why it would not start. i hooked up the vaccum lines and it fired up the first time.

Well!!! after 2 maybe 3 hrs of trouble shooting i think I found the problem... its the distributor, I think its dead! Yes I did say that I have sparks! but my brother that works for the city garage came by to help me troubleshoot, recheck my plugs with a timing light, he explained that if i have a good spark the timing light will come on when i crank the engine..sure enough..the timing light didint lit up..we verified it by pulling the plug and while i tried to start the engine he watched for a blue spark..yes blue spark, thats was he said, he said yes i have spark but its weak. so we proceeded to check the coil resistance. my coil was nowhere close to spec. so im off to pick and pull junkyard tomorrow to see if i can find me a decent distributor....if not...im gonna have to fork up 300 bucks for a brand new one.
