Around a year ago, my clutch cable/pedal squeaked real bad when pressing the pedal until it eventually popped. After I changed it, there was a noticable difference in the pressure it took to press on the pedal and the squeak was gone. It's starting to squeak again and I'm not sure, but it may be tightening up again. Has anyone had this problem?
Also, if anyone has a 99 sentra 1.6 (limited edition GXE) with manual tranny, do you always have to order parts from Nissan? It seems like only dealer parts fit my car. My girlfriend has a 98 sentra 1.6 GXE (not limited edition) I never have problems getting parts for her car.

My original cable lasted 8 or 9 years, and was still good when i changed the clutch and cable. so i suspect its more than just the cable,
They are basically the same cars apart from trim, so I am surprised there is a difference.
I had an almera and my cable snapped but it was only after i changed the cable that it started squeakin, now i own a Vz-r and my cable is squeakin!! its really annoyin!!
as far as i know nothing can be done about it..... well nissan mechanics told me that but dont think they knew wat i was talkin about!!
I think most parts are the same like Distributer Caps and wires, etc. But chassis parts like the motor and tranny mounts that I bought had to be from the dealer. The mounts that I got from Autozone or Advance Discount Auto Parts look the same as the OEM parts, but don't fit.
