I bought a $40 dollar timing light from Autozone, and got directions on advancing the timing from this site: http://www.geocities.com/n_dahi/timing/timing.htm
(I'm new to the car tuning thing, so any help would be good)
I hooked up the light to the battery terminal, and the inductive pickup to the first plug, and then this is where i'm lost. It says to loosen the two bolts of the distributor, and I don't know where (or what) that is. And then it says to aim the timing light above the crank pulley? Again, lost. And then move the distributor cap, which is? Where?
Yeah, so help with this would be really appreciated. Thanks.
Another question, do you adjust the pulley while the cars running? Because I don't want to get my hand sucked into the belts or what not. And do you need any tools to adjust it?
AznVirus - You seem to be helping a few people lately with your site. BOH! If we were all here in person, I'd get a Lighta Crew flamin' inside for ya! BOH BOH BOH!
Sorry kids... Had to bust out with a little DnB MCing there. LOL

Thanks again.
I hope you mean read the timing on the pulley... you don't adjust the pulley...
Originally posted by Choopsticks Alright, finally done. I can feel a bit of a difference in acceleration, and just wanted to thank everyone for the newbie help.
Run at least 91 octane to avoid any chance of detenation.
Dood, you live in Oklahoma. Hell, if I would have realized that I would have given you my number and I would have helped you do it. LOL... Are you in OKC? If so... The Sinclair's on NW 63rd and May has their 93 octane for only like, $1.55. It's actually rated at 94.1 right now. Also, Red Rock Race Fuels has 101 octane oxygenated fuel, which kicks all sorts of ass, but it's $3.75 a gallon. The Texaco on NW 63rd and Western has 101 octane for $3.75, but it's not oxygenated like Red Rock's. Hope this helps!

I live in Stillwater, yeaaah, sucks. I think I did talk to you in another thread, and I said what you just said; minus the whole gas thing.
But I JUST got gas, yesterday, but i'll be sure to check those places out. I ordered a CAI and I might need some help with that, since I don't really have all the necessary tools and what not, plus my 'friends' suck sometimes. We should go and show them what 'nissan power's all about. Hah.

Wooo woo for Stillwater. Hahah. Lots of stuff to do up there.
CAI is EASY to do! All you need are some sockets, and tinsnips and a drill. Not too hard at all. If you need to when you get it, I'm sure I'd be able to help ya if you wanna come down to the city.
Oh, and if you ever come down here to check out the gas places that I was telling you about, I found a new one. NW 36th and Santa Fe... Another Sinclairs that's cheaper than the one on May, and the 93 is rated at 96!!
