engine lopes on cold start

when i start my car the enigine will lope and die if i dont give it gas i have replaced the iacv still didnt help. could someone tell me what is wrong with my car.

It wont die like it does when you start it up cold but the rpms drop real low and come back up when you are driving and clutch it.

I'd check the small things - fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc. if you haven't already done so. Sounds like a fuel/air problem.

I would say the fuel pump. That's what my dad's truck was doing when his fuel pump was putting out about half the pressure it was supposed to (loped upon startup and died when you put it in gear).

Wierd. Mine did the same thing and I fixed it by replacing the IACV. Might want to check the connector on the harness as well. On mine the sping pins on the inside of the harness lost the spring to them and intermittently lost contact resulting in strange things. I had to take apart the plug and pry the contacts apart.

You can diagnose an IACV by unplugging it. If it runs better, that's the culprit. A fast loping would suggest a vacuum leak. A slower lope would make me think insufficient fuel (possibly filter - a quick fix), insufficient air (check your filter).

Check and makes sure Mass Air Flow sensor is plugged in properly, maybe contact wire of MAF plug needs cleaning.

The answer I like from above is fuel pump.

Replace the PCV valve it is over looked very often and can cause problems if not replaced. I change mine every tune up.
