1.6 Valve Adjust? Or maybe somthing else.

Ok so in this forum I mostly have found my awnsers by searching when I have a problem, but maybe I have not searched enough. Its a 98 B14 with 113k and Air intake, obx headers, heel toe racing batery in the trunk 2"exhaust with magnaflow cat, msd wires.

So it is making a mean valve noise that is loud it is there at idel (idels fine rpm wise) and and 5th at 60mph no matter what its there. Now I know that the valves need to be adjusted on these motors about every 30k now could this be it....

I dont know but the write up in my haynes mannel seemed rather in depth, with this what could be the sound. And how do I fix it any thing could help. Just trying to take a short cut I can record the sound and post it if that helps.

probably upper timing chain tensioner and guides need replacing. listen with large screwdriver as stethoscope. if you search here others have this problem.
