I have recently bought a 92 Nissan NX hatchback 5-speed. It runs awesome after i did a little work on it. (Plugged in the idle motors... a shop did an engine swap on it and for some reason didn't plug them in...) anywhys i hadn't taken it on the highway much just been driving it around town. Then i went for a little drive to the city and tried to see how fast i could get the little thing running. Well the acceleration is great. It's pretty hard for me not to spin the tires on it. but when i get on the highway. in 5the gear doing about 110 km im already at about 3200 rpm. That doesn't seem right to me. I don't have bad power going up steep hills or anything that i really notice. Would it be the tranny? Is there something that i can maybe adjust in the tranny to change this gear ratio or anything? I just starting working at a local shop about 10 months ago and im doing an apprenticeship so i got all the resourses but my boss doesn't really know anything about these cars. Any info would be awesome.
