Having some tranny problems with my a/t GA. It's got 102,xxx on it and the overdrive is burned and sometimes won't switch into 3rd or 4th gears. I have to let off the gas allowing the tranny to catch up, sort of. A pain in the ass when trying to catch speed on a highway on-ramp. Eventually it's not going to change at all. Then i'll be f**ked.
Alreay looking into getting it taken out and a new(er) one put in.. My question is should I replace it with the same or is there one that handles more powerful or is better that fits? (..not looking to go a/t to m/t. got another project car on the way for me to get crazy with.. )

a straight up replacement is probably the best bet. fewer problems
Tranny is running 10 times better. opted to change tranny fluid first and see result before rebuild. If problems come back i'll be swapping it out. For now just riding it out.
Too bad the average consumer doesn't think that way.
sadly, most people are very short sighted. They want satisfaction now, they want to save money now, they want to spruce up the bottom line NOW....regardless of sustainability.
