I have a 95 200sx about 123,000 miles on and it always runs like a champ until to day. I just changed my oil with Pennzoil full synthetic and also change transmission fluids with B&B trick shift always been doing things this way but after I did every thing and cranked the car I got a loud squealing I let it run after 5 sec and turned it off I the check all that I touch not was out of play I then turned it on again and it’s still squealing then my dad notice that smoke was coming from the side where the belt is but it to dark to tell what’s wrong so I just lubed everything it still squealing. Man this noise is annoying please someone give me some insight and what could have happeened
I finally got some light to see the belts and the pulley thats connected directly to block is not turning but the belts just slide cross what do I do next.
I got the car towed to the shop and but it left my house it still sounded pretty bad once upon the tow truck the car crank just fine idled right and sounded good I got it to the shop and said that the water pump might have seized and I would need to change it out and wanted to charge 395.99 I said no way and drove my car home and parked till my mechanic comes back in town.
The water pump job is expensive because it takes a lot of labor to remove all the pulleys and stuff to get at it. That said, there is nothing difficult about changing the water pump, it just takes time. If you're a bit mechanically inclined, you might consider doing it yourself. A Haynes manual will have detailed instructions with pictures. You can save yourself a few hundred bucks this way. I changed my water pump a few weeks ago, and it was no big deal, just took a fair bit of time.
