what to do next?

In May I will have about 1500 bucks and I was wondering what should I spend it on either performance or suspension, both are stock right now. I have an extreme kit and 18's on my 97' 200sx se auto. If I do go with performance what should I get to achieve the best gains? If I do go with suspension what should I get(I know this isn't the specialty of this board) but I'm just wondering about it?

man, 1500 is almost enough to get an engine from some places, then put it in yourself.. if I had 1500, i'd just put it on my creditcard payments, cause i have spend alot of money on my car.. hehe

get some Hotshot headers, cold air intake, greddy exhaust, and eibach coil overs.. that should do it.. keep it stock dude (look)

too late, he has a body kit......with 18's..but 1500 is quite an amount of money. just save up another 2K$ and go turbo........that will give u the best gains...no matter what. or u can always buy N2o......but u have to prep your engine for that(not worth it IMO)

Hotshot Header and Cold Air Intake. Then get in on the Carbonfiber Hood for the b14 Group Buy. There is also a HS Header Group Buy. You can save some monye and improve your car a lot. Then with the left over money see if you can get some suspension.

HS Header + CAI costs a lot and you will only get max 20 hp out of it... I would just save another 500 and get a DET... but I guess to each his own.

a sr20det cost 2000? but isnt that just for a trans and a ecu, dont i have to get more parts then that to do the engine swap, if there is a site that tells exactly what all parts is needed to do the swap that would be great. I think if I don't do the swap i would go with the cai, exhaust, jwt ecu upgrade, pop charger i guess.

w/the kit and 18's u definitely need to lower it. you can go hs header/cai, full exhaust and also get some sportlines...maybe have enough for some agx's too

i decided either to save more money up and put in a SR20DET or get ground controls and agx's and a CAI and possibly a full exhaust.

I don't suggest that you get coilovers. Coilovers (unless you want serious handeling) make the your ride a bit rougher. I suggest that you buy springs with shocks. Possibly Tein, or H & R's. They make your ride much smoother, and the installation (IMO) is a bit easier. If you do decide to stick to coilovers, make sure to get the complete camber kit and everything (which might be a good $800-$1200 depends on brand).

Hmm,
I heard that the ride from coilovers is better than springs.

no coilovers are definately a stiff ride, whether you like this or not is a personal preference. to me, yeah its bad but i like it much more. Coilovers provide the best handling by far.
